August Update

Well, winter is just about done and dusted – according to the calendar anyway – however there is still plenty of wet weather golf to had yet ….

With spring arriving next week, the Sunday comp tee time will revert to 8.30/9.00 am start

“Monthly Medal” winners to date include – August – Men’s Greg Preston.

AND, don’t forget, we are now running a “9 Hole” comp in conjunction with the normal 18 hole Sunday comp for those who only wish to play 9 holes – handicap is not required and scores will go towards getting a handicap. Tee times follow the usual Sunday comp.

Friday Chook Run is still running, although tee time is now 3.30/4.00 in order to beat the dark. You can also play earlier in the week if you wish, just find a partner, play your round and place card and $5.00 under the door.

Some VERY good news on the grant front – we have been fortunate enough to win a grant to upgrade our irrigation system, which will include the installation of a 220,000 litre colourbond tank, new electric pump, piping and sprinklers.

The grant was provided through the “Department of Responsible Gambling and Alcohol”, where a portion of taxes collected from the industry are reinvested to the community through grants.

We expect actual work on the course to begin around early November.

Our annual Tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday, the 10th,11th of September.

Saturday is Mens, Ladies and Mixed 2 Ball Ambrose, whilst Sunday is an MDGA sponsored mens scratch and handicap event. Enquiries to “admin@jinderagolfclub.com”

This always a great day, cost for Saturdays 2 Ball Ambrose is $25.00/player including great prizes and BBQ lunch. Sunday is $35.00, with more great prizes and lunch. So if you are just looking for a fun day out, then grab a partner and register for Saturdays event. For the more serious golfers, Sundays men’s comp is also an MDGA points event.

The club has just purchased an electric golf cart for hire by members and visitors.
